Public Radio Program Callers Hey everyone,

I'm writing on behalf of BackStory with the American History Guys, a history public radio program and podcast run out of the University of Virginia. The show can be found online at backstoryradio.org. Every week, our three historian-hosts pull a topic from the headlines and see how it has played out over three centuries of American history. We are doing an upcoming show on conventions in American history. While most of the show focuses on political conventions, we are interested in getting a caller to talk about other kinds of conventions as well--mainly to ask things along the line of why meetings are called "conventions," when did non-political conventions start, etc. The call would only take about 20 minutes of your time, and would consist of a fun and thought-provoking conversation with the "History Guys." We are doing recording sessions this Thursday morning, August 2. If you would be interested in being a caller, please shoot us an e-mail at backstory@virginia.edu. Thanks!
