Viz Announces Naruto on Disney XD

By Ryan Kopf - Sep. 11, 2009

Disney XD, the successor to Toon Disney as of February, will now debut Naruto Shippuden starting in October. Disney XD is a new cable channel specifically marketed to replace Toon Disney and bring live-action and animated programming for kids from 6-14.

Naruto Shippuden is the continuation of the Naruto story, where Naruto returns after extensive travels and training to grow even stronger. Upon returning he finds that everyone has been promoted up the ninja ranks, except him. Even deeper in the story, Naruto learns more and more that nothing in his world is as it seems.

Created by Masashi Kishimoto, the Naruto manga was first introduced in weekly Shonen Jump magazine in Japan beginning in 1999 and quickly became that country’s most popular ninja manga targeting young teens and has sold more than 92 million copies to-date.
