That Animal Guy

“That Animal Guy” Jim DeBerry’s Wildlife Adventures has a legacy dating back to the 1930s—beginning with Silver Springs and later evolving into Cool Zoo. Jim DeBerry’s Wildlife Adventures has become a premier provider of trained animals and animal coordination for film and television.

The organization’s work spans decades of iconic productions, including Tarzan, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Sea Hunt, Dr. Dolittle, and Shark Week, along with more recent titles such as Zookeeper, the Air Buddies franchise, Kangaroo, Vikings, Heartland, Loki, and the live-action Moana. Their latest project, the HBO Max series Wild in America, is set to premiere in Fall 2026.

Today, the nonprofit is led by renowned Wildlife Expert and Trainer, Jim DeBerry and his experienced team, who oversee the care and conservation of more than 4,000 animals representing over 400 species. The organization continues its mission to inspire and educate audiences through live appearances and contributions to the entertainment industry.

At conventions, throughout the weekend, guests can enjoy photo opportunities and table-side encounters with a variety of animal ambassadors, including a baby kangaroo, snakes, micro pigs, and more. Animal appearances are subject to change.
