Steampunk Spectacular 5 is upon us! Gear up your imagination as we journey to the retro-futuristic world of steam-powered automatons, gear-encrusted explorers and performers that will entertain and delight. Grab your nautical gears and join us at the picturesque Mine Shaft Tavern for a day of merriment, intrigue and fun! Workshops, costume contest and entertainment planned throughout the day. This daylong festival has a Steampunk theme. Attendees are encouraged to be a part of creating a unique atmosphere and dress in their best steampunk gear. Cthulhu’s Foul Plot Steamers beware: the diabolically malevolent Cthulhu has escaped his underwater prison where the clever villain was imprisoned for years and is now at large. There are reports that the Tentacled One may be planning to infiltrate the Steampunk Spectacular! Members of the Steamworks Protection Force are on high alert as they keep a wary eye for the mark of Cthulhu and they need your help to capture this elusive being. Solve clues in the Cthulhu Murder Mystery, gather tokens and win prizes while hunting for Cthulhu and his followers. There is some trouble brewing between the United Federation of Airships and the Rail Roads that want to expand into the heart of Madrid. It all boils over into the Mine Shaft Murder Mystery and you can help find the culprit. Be on guard and engage in Parasol Dueling. Join the scavenger hunt or peruse Merchant’s Row for garb, gear and gadgets. Fortune tellers, magicians and more! Special prize for themed costume. The Engine House Cabaret Doors open at 8 pm –this show will sell out! When the sun goes down, the burlesque and belly dance stars come out. Things get steamy in this vaudeville cabaret show featuring the most creative, exquisite, boundary-stretching entertainers NM has to offer. Teens are allowed, but only if accompanied by an adult.
